To calculate number of blocks in 1 cubic meter, first of all you need to know concrete block size.
The number of concrete block is depend on the size of block. Concrete blocks are available in the various sizes,

· Standard full-size blocks (Hollow and Solid):
- 400 mm x 200 mm x 200 mm (16 in x 8 in x 8 in)
- 400 mm x 200 mm x 150 mm (16 in x 8 in x 6 in)
- 400 mm x 200 mm x 100 mm (16 in x 8 in x 4 in)
· Half-size blocks:
- 200 mm x 200 mm x 200 mm (8 in x 8 in x 8 in)
- 200 mm x 200 mm x 150 mm (8 in x 8 in x 6 in)
- 200 mm x 200 mm x 100 mm (8 in x 8 in x 4 in)
· Specialty sizes:
- 390 mm x 190 mm x 190 mm (15.4 in x 7.5 in x 7.5 in)
- 390 mm x 190 mm x 140 mm (15.4 in x 7.5 in x 5.5 in)
- 390 mm x 190 mm x 90 mm (15.4 in x 7.5 in x 3.5 in)
Here are the ways to calculate concrete block in 1 cubic meter.
concrete blocks are required for 1 cubic meter
Step – 1: To calculate concrete block here we considered block size,
Length – 400 mm
Width – 200 mm
Height – 200 mm

Step – 2: Calculate volume of one concrete block:
Volume of one concrete block = L X B X H = 400/1000 x 200/1000 x 100/1000c =0.008cumt
Step – 3: Required concrete block in 1 cumt (Without mortar)
Length of wall = 1000 mm
Width of wall = 1000 mm
Width of wall = 200 mm

The volume of wall = 1000/1000 x 1000/1000 x 200/1000 = 0.2 cumt
Volume of 1 concrete Block = 400/1000 X 200/1000 x 200/1000 = 0.016 cumt
For 0.2 cumt wall concrete block required = 0.2/0.016 = 12.5 ~ 13 Nos
So, for 1 cumt concrete block required = 13/0.2 = 65 nos
Step – 4: Required concrete block in 1 cumt (With mortar)
The volume of wall = 1000/1000 x 1000/1000 x 200/1000 = 0.2 cumt
Thickness of mortar =10 mm

Volume of concrete block = (400+10)/1000 X (200+10)/1000 x (200+10)/1000
= 410/1000 x 210/1000 x 210/1000 = 0.0181 cumt
Required concrete block for 0.2 cumt = 0.2/0.0181 = 11 nos.
So, for 1 cumt concrete block required = 11/0.2 = 55 nos
