Are you planning to new how or renovate your home and do you want to know about the quantity of required for concrete.
Quantity for concrete is depend on the concrete mix ratio. Here we have discussed about the calculation of the concrete quantity.
Calculate Quantity for Concrete

Let’s start example:
Assume,
Mix concrete ratio – 1:2:4
Volume of concrete – 1 cumt
01 – Calculate wet & dry volume of concrete:
Assume wet volume of concrete =1 cumt
For 1 cumt we add 53% extra for dry concrete.
SO, dry concrete volume = 1+1*53%=1.53 cumt
Material calculation for concrete:
(a) Cement Quantity calculation:
Cement = 1:2:4 (Cement:Sand:Aggregate)
Cement = cement proportion/(Sum of concrete ratio)
= 1/(1+2+4)=1/7=0.143 cumt
(b) Sand Calculation:
Sand = Sand proportion/(Sum of concrete ratio)
=2/(1+2+4)=0.286 cumt
(c) Aggregate calculation:
Aggregate = Aggregate proportion/(Sum of concrete ratio)
= 4/(1+2+4) = 0.571 cumt
Conclusion:
Material Quantity for 1:2:4 concrete mix ratio.
- Cement = 0.143 cumt
- Sand = 0.286 cumt
- Aggregate = 0.571 cumt
Cement in bag = 0.143 X 30 = 4.29 Bags (Here 30 is the Kg of cement bag. Cement bag is available in 30 kg bags)
