Concrete Volume Calculation for Retaining Wall?

Retaining wall is another structure in construction. Retaining wall is a used for holds soil or water in place to prevent it from falling or collapsing. This wall is usually used in areas with steep terrain or when landscaping needs to be shaped for specific purposes, such as hillside farming or roadway overpasses.

Retaining wall

In this article we have discussed about the concrete volume for retaining wall. Before we start calculation,

Here are some terms which are used in retaining wall.

  • Base
  • Stem
  • Heel
  • toe

Here we have divide retaining wall into two parts, A & B

Concrete volume calculation for Retaining Wall

Volume of A = L X B X H

= 20 X 2 X 200/1000

= 20 X 2 X 0.2

= 8 CUMT

Volume of B = ((a+b/2) x h ) X L

= (0.2+0.5)/2 x 5 x 20

= 35 cumt

Total Volume of retaining wall = A + B = 8 + 35 = 43 cumt

So, this is the calculation method to calculate concrete volume for retaining wall.
